Anjumans skilled and multilingual staff provide support in:
Accommodation based support services to eligible service users
Delivering community based preventative support and offers strategic outcome based approach”. To ensure service users feel supported in their goals, Anjuman has an “Open Door” policy, which ensures service users can discuss concerns they may have. The support is available on a 1-2-1 basis and a group basis.
Emotional Support
Informal talks about their life experiences / personal problems, befriending, encouraging peer support. Help in establishing social contacts and enabling social participation to improve confidence and self-esteem.
Finance
Help in managing finances to improve budgeting skills. Providing assistance to service user with benefit application such as Employment & Support Allowance, Job Seekers Allowance, Personal Independence Payment and Universal Credit, and liaising with the benefit agencies with any follow up problems that may occur. In addition, help with Housing benefit and housing related issues is also provided.
Housing
Completing relevant housing applications and liaising with the Coventry Homefinder in order to help secure appropriate accommodation for service users following their stay at Anjuman. Help service user setting up and maintaining new tenancy, and support to ensure a smooth transition.
Signposting
We encourage service users to integrate with the local community and signpost them to access religious organisation, health services and other organisation they may require.
Developing Daily Living Skills
Anjuman offers a comprehensive and effective support package to help service user build valuable life skills and construct social networks which enhance their ability to live independently, and improve confidence and self-esteem.
Advice and Counselling
Advice, advocacy, help in gaining access to other services – help adjusting to different cultural background, help gain access to culturally appropriate counselling services. Liaising with advocacy support from same ethnic group.
Improving Health, Wellbeing, Independence and Resilience
Collaboration with other health professionals to support service user facilitate mental and physical health treatment to ensure stability in their well-being. Information is provided to service user about how they can access support from the NHS health services and other local organisations to help prevent any problems before they reach crisis point.
We help service user cultivate their resilience in the community, empowering them their independence to eventually move on to independent living. Anjuman also provide a therapeutic working environment which is significantly helpful to service user’s mental health recovery and rehabilitation.
Educational and Employment Prospects
A personalised approach to support is central to efficient mental health recovery, permitting service users to become engaged in the community. At Anjuman, we have experience of service users who do not speak English as their first language, and have found it can be an impediment to treatment and latterly, integration when living independently. We work with these service users to promote knowledge of English, including educational opportunities presented by the English for Speakers of Other languages (ESOL) programme. Also liaising with organisation to help service user access other vocational courses to improve their skills and further harness their career and enable them to secure work more successfully.
Health & Safety
Help in establishing personal safety and security, develop understanding of Health and safety issue for example fire precautions, evacuation procedure, correct usage of equipment, safety aspects while cooking, cleaning of own rooms, advice or support on repair work, home improvement.

Safety and Security
We believe integration is central to effective service, helping service users maintain their safety and security whilst at Anjuman, and once living independently.
Leading on from Health & Safety training, service users are shown methods to upkeep their security and that of the premises. By regulating all visitors to the premises and ensuring that all service users guest sign in and out of the building along with reporting incidents immediately to the member of staff on call.
